Underwriting-Grade Procedure Pricing You Can Download and Verify

Most pricing vendors hand you one number and ask you to trust it. We hand you the full distribution, the confidence intervals, and the source, so you can check the work yourself. This verified subset covers 7,237 cells across 32 metros and 179 procedures, in plain CSV.

How We Build It

Federally Mandated Source

Every price in the sample traces to a hospital Machine-Readable File published under 45 CFR Part 180, the federal price transparency rule. Each cell carries the MRF vintage date so you know exactly how current the source is.

Verified Cohort

We run a mandatory quality gate before any cell enters the sample. Cells that fail completeness, freshness, or plausibility checks are excluded or flagged for review. Only cells that pass carry the "verified" flag in the CSV.

BCa Bootstrap Confidence Intervals

Where sample size allows, we compute bias-corrected and accelerated (BCa) bootstrap confidence intervals on both the mean and the 95th percentile. This lets you distinguish a stable p95 from one driven by a small number of outlier hospitals. Most mid-market data vendors ship a single point estimate with no interval. You get the range and a measure of how much to trust it.

Who Uses This Data

The sample is a starting point. See if your use case fits before booking time with us.

Severity and Loss Modeling

MGAs and specialty payers use the severity distributions and BCa confidence intervals to anchor loss-cost models and set reserves without paying enterprise data prices.

Network and Steerage Benchmarking

TPAs and healthcare navigators compare cash-pay and negotiated-rate distributions across metros to benchmark networks and identify steerage opportunities.

Market Pricing for Insurtechs

Early-stage insurtechs use procedure-level pricing distributions to model benefit design and test premium assumptions before a full actuarial study.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the ProcedureRadar verified data sample?
A verified subset of our procedure-pricing data across four price bases: gross charge, cash or self-pay, and de-identified minimum and maximum negotiated rates. Each cell includes empirical percentiles (p25, p75, p95, p99) and, where the sample size supports it, BCa bootstrap confidence intervals on the mean and p95. The download covers 7,237 cells, 32 US metros, and 179 procedures in plain CSV format.
How is the sample different from the full dataset?
The sample is limited to our verified, recently sourced cohort across a subset of metros. The paid product adds the remaining metros (up to 100), payer-attributed negotiated rates (not just de-identified min and max), monthly freshness through the live API, and JSON responses with quality scores and source attribution for every record.
Where does the data come from?
Hospital Machine-Readable Files published under the federal price transparency mandate, 45 CFR Part 180. Each cell in the sample carries the source file date so you know the MRF vintage for that specific record.
Is the sample free?
Yes. Enter a work email and the download starts immediately. We send one follow-up email. No spam, no sales calls unless you ask.
How current is the data?
The sample reflects MRF vintages from early 2026 (source_file_date per cell ranges roughly 2026-02 to 2026-05). The full paid dataset refreshes monthly as hospitals publish updated Machine-Readable Files.
